QTBIPOC PD: Exploring the Intersections of Race, Gender, and Sexual Orientation in Participatory Design

We invite participants interested in engaging with racial, gender, and sexual orientation diversity in participatory design. Our virtual workshop seeks to provide a safe space for scholars to share their experiences with participatory design methodologies that exclude the experiences of marginalized participants. We have two goals: to create recommendations for engaging in participatory design research with QTBIPOC and discuss methods to disseminate the recommendations and reflections on the workshop.

We will be accepting publications or a statement of interest as submissions to participate in the workshop.

What the workshop will look like

The structure of the workshop will be discussion-based with a panel of experts to share their experiences with research or with engaging QTBIPOC populations in human-centered design or community organization.
